HOCKER_IN_DALLAS_3-ANDREW_ENGLISH

 Final update before "midterms,"

Another week goes by of flying through assignments. Made probably a dozen renderings for this patio planter that we are trying to figure out the plant pallette. We ended up going with the first rendering I made.

It's never as good as the first time. I feel that is a common theme when it comes to creative expression. Maybe that's just my opinion. Natural as we came to be.

It has been great expanding my understanding of ecoregions and ecology of Texas. Large variety of forestry and grasslands, wet and dry, high and low. Spring is sneaking up on us and I am excited to watch the blackland prairies pop out, post oak forest canopies form, and the crosstimbers of thickets and cedars thicken.

Local Italia Express packs a mean lunch.

One of my coworkers said he hadn't been here in 10 years and it hasn't changed.

Epic office party celebrating HOCKER 20 year anniversary

Addy and Arielle came by the office party!

Camped out and did some outdoor recreation with Jack!

Disc golf along the Brazos river in Waco with Limestone cliffs in the background. The cliffs are part of Cameron park which is a multi use recreational park full of epic mountain bike trails going up and down the cliffs and along the river.

Some recent horticulture findings for y'all.

Cercis canadensis, Redbud starting to bloom at one of our projects.

Prunus mexicana, Mexican plums blooming (had to pull over for this one).

Populus deltoides, Cottonwoods along the Brazos river get massive.

Forestiera pubescens, Elbowbush forms a valuable thicket head height

Carex texensis, Texas Sedge I think, but this one looks big and healthy.

Quercus alba, White oaks formed a grove (check out that white bark). Sunrise.

Schizachyrium scoparium, Little Bluestem in the prairie glade glowing in the sunset
