CONNOR Interning(11)- DDG

Not much excitement in the office the past few weeks. Everyone is pretty busy with their own projects and they don't really need me bothering them for busy work. I got back from a beach trip on Sunday but before I left I completed a permit set that had been in the database since like 2022. They started it way back when, and since I wasn't busy they told me to get on it.

...some yoga center in Harris County, TX. Thought it came out ok considering all the linework in this file hadn't been touched for years. Apparently codes in Texas are all kinds of out of wack. Every other block has a totally different standard for everything, it's redonculous. We just sent these drawings in last week so we'll see what they say.

Before my beach trip I was in two summer school classes but now that those are over I can start putting in 40 hours a week again. I've been working from 8-12 every day since late May, so my pockets have been severely empty. It was honestly so ass having to leave the office early to just go home and study. I felt like I was letting the team down by not being at my desk for afternoons. When you only come in for half days, you miss out on office tea and you never really know where everyone else is at with the projects they are currently working on.

Today is my first regular day back and as soon I walked in they told me get ready for site visits all day. I was not prepared for walking around in 100 degree weather open fields while wearing slacks and a nice polo. Didn't even get to wear my shades :(
We surveyed 3 BREC Parks today to prepare for a St. George meeting where hopefully they hire us to spice up the city parks. We've been using ArcGIS on our phones to specifically locate aspects of a site that way we can just got to the site and mark it on our maps and then it shows up in our data base back at the office. However, I just took notes and photos today. Going to be looking at more of the parks throughout this week.
This is pretty much what I gathered today...

Microsoft Excel is the worst omg I hate it so much. Don't judge my chart.

FUN FACT!!!

Did you know that on sports courts, pickle ball lines are supposed to be underneath tennis lines? Don't know why or how, just know it's the LAW!

Also, I went golfing Friday and got absolutely nailed by a stinger from 50 yards away. It hurt a little bit, but since it hit me in the arm there was cushioning. It hit right above my left elbow on the bottom of my tricep (where the meat is stored). The bruise is the color of a rotting eggplant. Will not be displaying my eggplant bruise

That's all I got for now. Until next time
