Hello all,
The past few weeks have been a little more exciting at the internship as I have been moving back into SketchUp and working on a modeling few different projects. It is really cool to see CAD linework transform into a 3d model of a site as you begin to see the different spaces come together. I have also spent some time doing construction documents for various projects. The fun part about this is getting the opportunity to choose site furnishings such as lights, chairs, tables, trash cans etc. I like having to reach out to sales reps and talk to them about the specifics on site furnishings and working through with them to develop details that will work with the site conditions. I also recently finished up my intern project which I think turned out really well. It was fun to do a project on my own, but it did sort of feel like a school project at times which wasn't the most exhilarating. Nevertheless, I had to present in front of the whole company which was pretty cool to do. I am starting to get really tired of my 3hrs a day commute as I don't have much free time, but I just keep reminding myself that I don't have to pay rent, so it is worth it until I get an actual job.
Outside of work I have been doing the same stuff - gym, golf, and other projects. I just finished the planting design for my parent's new house so we will be putting in some of the plants and rocks soon. The wildfires have been pretty bad here, so it is almost always hazy out which gets old quick but at least it is not 0 degrees out like it was in the winter. My brother also got back from college the other week, so it has been a little more exciting at home as it is not just me, my parents, and the dogs. Anyways, I am about ready to return to school so I can get back in the college routine.
That cathedral is stunning and so is your work
