8/ Addy gets handed friends and vacations

Say what you will about my company but hah, they got perks.

Two weeks ago, they flew me out to charlotte, NC for our official internship week along with 22 other interns. It was an official introduction to who LandDesign is and how they function. They took us on a tour around the office (five stories tall omg) and then on a bus tour of charlotte to show us some of our main projects! I have never heard a soul speak ill of Charlotte or North Carolina, so I was super excited. But just to break the mold, let me tell you, Charlotte sucks. The whole place smells like piss and there is nothing to do. And, just a side piece of advice that you can use on the daily, do not let scary, short men trap you on the street while you're alone and pull you into conversation.

Never EVER trust a short man at first impression.

But anyways, my trip was still so sick. I don't know how to explain this the right way, but we were there for three total days and I think I have walked out with lifelong friends. It was like company/social networking on another level. For the week, LD gave me a hotel room with a girl named Faye and she's cool af. We'd stay up way later than we needed to, talking about the most random things and laughing until our stomachs hurt. I am so so thankful I got to meet her.

Our main crew and my new favorite people

The front door and our charette project we had two days to do and then presented to
ALL FIVE OFFICES

Heading back home and leaving all the people in charlotte was so strange but Sophia is coming home with me to the Dallas office! She is a talkative ball of energy compared to my steady going energy in the office, but we still work really well together. We were already given a site together, not to fully flesh out, but to tackle the nitty gritty things and we got to go on a site visit last week. How she got a site visit after two days in the office when I had to wait two months is beyond me but I guess I won't hold it against her.

Women + Leah

Our office also took us on a tour of the Fort Worth stockyards which was so fun. We had a happy hour after and Ben got a little tipsy, told me he also doesn't like our boss (a total win) and then showed us lots of backflips which always makes me laugh. Ben never does work. He just shows me videos of him doing backflips at the lake....or failed backflips lmao - last week he was concussed. Anyways, after, a group of us went and watched the cattle drive and got to see the cowboys. I mean cows. All in all, a really really good day.

We spent the day laughing and naming the bulls after people in the office because they were fighting.

This week, I am still working on my Haggard farm concept rendering (where our site visit was) and they're complaining about how much time were spending on it but I am training Sophia AND picking up the slack of 3 different people making 3 different concepts and not talking about it and Leah not telling any of us the restrictions or deliverables. I got to escape yesterday though and go take site pictures for our marketing team in charlotte. That was really awesome because I spent three whole hours of my work day driving and listening to music.

Stealing Danny's songs of the week bit for a second but I've been listening to such a weird range of music and here are my tops as of right now.

You look so good in love - George Strait

Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin

Force of Nature - Lizzy McAlpine

And I am going to go ahead and say...

Manchild - Sabrina Carpenter .... Which comes out on Thursday. I am very excited.

Thanks, Devito. I'll pass the torch back.

I think that's all I have for right now so good morning and in case I don't see you, good afternoon good evening and goodnight.

Miss yall

xoxo
