Assignment Updates:

WEEK SEVENTEEN

·         Wrapped up BREC proposal.

·         Tuesday Morning, I picked up our proposal prints that were wound into booklets and delivered them to BREC’s office.

·         Continued work on JD Clifton adjusting proposed linework with the existing survey.

WEEK EIGHTEEN

·         Weekly Staff Meeting on Monday Morning

·         Continued work on JD Clifton adjusting proposed linework with the existing survey.

WEEK NINETEEN

·         There is a 30% CD Set due next Thursday for JD Clifton Park in Lake Charles. I am working with Amy and Conner to put together the set.

·         Still awaiting Roseate Beach deadlines from Danielle.

·         Keith handed off some redline corrections to me on the LSUA Downtown Health Services Center.

·         Zach briefed me on some base maps that he wanted me to make but we are still awaiting a handful of surveys from civil, so we wait.

·         CarboLabs: Awaiting the overdue delivery of metal edging to line beds to fix our obviously apparent weed problem.

·         We have an upcoming office Nursey Visit in Arnaudville, LA on May 20th.

In my first week at Confluence in Minneapolis, it was all about learning the systems and how things work here: file structure, licensing, AutoCAD standards, company structure, and how project timelines and budgets work. On my first day, I was able to introduce myself to everyone in the office and get settled onto my desk and computer. In our office there are only 10 of us, including myself and another intern who is also a 4th-year landscape architecture student but at the University of Minnesota. After the first week, and once I was settled in, I was able to start helping around the office for several projects. GREETINGS ONCE AGAIN! I am attempting to get better at this blogging thing, I think my delivery of the last one was a bit bland and robotic. Fortunately, they say in life growth is inevitable and the same applies to my internship experience. I feel the level of trust is being raised with us interns. From the increased workload to the level of work being that is tasked to us. I don't know if it's just me but having my judgement and skill trusted to the level of having a deliverable that I had a large role in being presented to others is a slightly nervous but very rewarding feeling. It also acts as a motivator to keep learning and increase the quality of my efforts.  Assignment updates! Mikala and I did tree warranty work at Greenwood Park in Baker. Our task of was to walkthrough a portion of the park and tag the dead trees and ground shrubs so they could be replaced under their one-year warranty.                         ...
