Life @ CLH with Chloe #6

Hey hey! How's it going everyone?

These past two weeks have been a little slow for me but I still am learning a lot.

Last week I got to work on a as constructed plan where we received a survey base with all of the information from the site and how details were actually built. I then took that survey and compared it to our original design so that we can see how and if the design actually lines up to what was built. We then created a profile for the new water line that was built. This assignment was very civil engineering heavy so I had to have a lot of help but it was great to see more of the civil side of design.

I also wrapped up the first draft of a planting plan for a community college in central NC. It was fun to be able to work with color a little bit and I got to have more of a hand in the design rather than just working on the fine line details in CAD. Once I got a basic hand design, I imported it to CAD which helped me clean it up a little and make sure everything was organized and measured correctly. This was hard for me at first because I am not the biggest plant person so it was hard to create a plant palette from scratch but my supervisor loved the palette and the ideas behind it.
just a little sliver of the planting plan

My other big assignment was to create details and sheets for a drainage project on Duke's campus. I learned new drainage techniques and how to create the details for these techniques. Yesterday, we had a meeting with the Duke landscape team and other important people at Duke University so that was cool. That was my first client based meeting at CLH so it was great to just sit and learn how these meeting typically run.

Outside work:
I haven't really done too much outside of work other than wedding planning. We are almost 6 months out from the wedding so I have to get these details done hopefully before school starts back. If you want a formal invite to the Baton Rouge reception please send me your address so I can start sending them out!! I will send the invites in the group chat too because I want all of y'all there so please please come!!!!

Sophie and I have had dinner and cocktails together a few times which is always a blast but she's leaving me next week which makes me so sad. Who am i going to eat lunch with now??? We are going to make her last week so much fun though!

Next week, I am going to NYC to stay with my sister and her wife for Easter even though we probably won't celebrate. The week after that I am headed back to BTR for the weekend! I am so excited to see my fiancé and my cats and my parents. I miss them so much. My parents are moving that weekend so I am headed to town to help them finish packing!

That's it for right now! I hope y'alls internships are going great! I cannot wait to see all of y'all!

here's a silly pic of my moody cat since I don't have any new outside pictures lol
