Will Emery #2 A Taste of Italy: Gardens, Vineyards, and Adventure

Just got back from an incredible trip to Italy, and honestly, I’m already missing it. From exploring historic gardens to floating over

Tuscany in a hot air balloon, every day was an adventure.

In Florence, I spent time wandering through the Boboli Gardens—huge, full of fountains, statues, and amazing views. It felt like

stepping into a different time.

One of the coolest experiences was taking a hot air balloon ride over the Tuscan countryside. Seeing miles of vineyards,

olive orchards, and rolling hills from the sky was unreal. Definitely a “wow” moment.

I also went truffle hunting with a dog. Watching the dog sniff out truffles was impressive, but the real highlight was

getting to taste them afterward—so good!

Of course, the food and wine were on another level. Fresh pasta, incredible cheeses, amazing local wines—every meal

was something to savor.

Between the scenery, the history, and all the incredible food, this trip was one for the books. Already thinking about

when I can go back!

Now a quick photodump…

Boboli Gardens: where the history is rich, the views are incredible, and the ADA standards are.... nonexistent. Pathways spanning the 111 acres range from 6% -20% slope.

Views from above the Tuscan landscape.

The stems of an old grape vine patiently waiting to bare leaves so that someone might rest under its shade again.

Searching for Marzolo (March) truffles, Tuber borchii, which are found under Hungarian Oaks, Quercus frainetto. Arturo was still a puppy and wanted to eat every truffle he found so Enzo had to be quick before his pup could scarfe them down.

Enjoying outdoor spaces at Colle di Val d'Elsa.

The Pantheon and Trevi Fountain in Rome. Already miss the walkability of the city and the amazing architecture around every corner.

One of the three fountains located in Piazza Navona in Rome. A great places to take an after dinner stroll.

"Curb Your Enthusiasm": Nobody understood why I was excited taking a picture of the curbs in Rome but we are nerds... so I knew y'all would understand.
