Recap of last week .. March 10-14

i got interned..

Last week started off real good. Monday and Tuesday were real chill. Which in the moment was nice, but I knew there was going to be a price to pay.  Mondays are usually pretty slow because our weekly team meetings occur which usually eat up the whole morning. We go over all projects. We explain what has been done, where they are at, who needs to help with what, all the ins and outs. We also go over hours and how much time we are over or under on a project and how we can fix the difference. We end these meetings by choosing a spot to order lunch at, and then I will usually be the one who goes to pick up the food. But I don't mind a little NOLA adventure.

After lunch, I started working on bubble diagrams and an existing contours plan of the New Branch Ranch, and really that was my whole Monday at work. Once I left I went to sparring and got some really good reps in. I really think I want to do a smoker soon (kickboxing tournament). Its not 100% a real fight, I'm still were big ole 20oz boxing gloves and shin guards, but it will give me a better idea to see if i actually want to start fighting frfr or if I'm going to just keep it as a fun hobby. So we shall see!

Tuesday was also pretty chill, I finished up the bubble diagrams and existing contour plan, then I started working on a social media post introducing myself as DBA's spring intern. I didn't have any other work to do at the moment so I had fun with it. Then around 4:30 I was introduced to two projects (this is were stuff started to go south). They seem like a cake walk. Two pocket parks in the middle of neighborhoods, no real programming just pathways and vegetation. 5 oclock was here by the time we were done so I went home walked Stella, did some heavy bag work, meal prepped, and went to sleep.

Wednesday.. I got to the office at 9 and started checking emails and getting logged on and everything. After about 45min I started working on one of the new projects from Tuesday. Then I get a message from Dana at 10:30am saying that she just got out a meeting w the neighborhood and she promised them that both of the projects final plans, materials board, plant pallets, and OPCs (cost estimates) .. So then I started panicking fr because yall thats a lot of work lmao. So I got my stuff together and started grinding out. Next thing you know it was 8:30 PM and im still not even done yet.  I then remembered I was still in NOLA not BR and had an hour and a half drive home. So I decided to leave so I could take a break and not fall asleep at the wheel lol. Its also my duty to take the trash and recycle out on Wednesdays because we WFH on TH/FR. Ill leave a pic below to explain how that went..

really ran away so fast yall have no idea.. this was very humbling to send to everyone

Then I finally get home and have to finish everything up. By the time I finished and sent everything to Dana it was 1am. 14 hour work day.. really 17 if you count the drive :) which like obviously I have done before with school and stuff, but its been a minute so it was real rough. Plus I had no earthly idea how to do a whole project cost estimate let alone three.. (two for each project, but one needed two alternatives, which means two different costs, which means 3 OPC)

Thursday and Friday I worked on the OPCs and corrected them to perfection. Obviously they weren't very accurate my first go round. But hey now I feel like pro so I guess it all worked out.

but yeah last week almost took my out and had me questioning my life. I really wish I was being dramatic.

Oh but I got to see Morgan and a couple of you guys which made me sososososossosoo happy, i miss everyone so much. Also we need to find a way to let Morgan in the blog lol.
