MARCH 10TH-MARCH 21ST

Starting the week off with good news, CARBO was selected to design a portion of Moncus Park in Lafayette, Louisiana. We had a kickoff meeting with the team, and I pulled some precedent images for the client’s review. We are also the subconsultants with an engineering project in town, so I put together our information to be used in their RFQ. And Danny and I were assigned with surveying for the LSU lighting and security project. We drove around LSU campus in a golf cart, with an attached satellite thing that measures foot candles. (data is then extracted into GIS, showing the extents of their previously made lighting improvements) I love an excuse to wear the hard hat and neon vest. And leaving early from work that day gave us ample time to have a reunion dinner with Morgie and some other classmates whom I have missed dearly.

ITS NOT LETTING ME ADD MY PICTURES. livid ill try later

We got pushed through to a round of interviews for another project- so there have been some meetings with that. I am setting up the InDesign slides to be presented in a few weeks. I also am making some diagrams to clarify our process and the project’s context.  We had a few meetings for Roseate Beach, I am learning a lot about helical piles if anyone wants to know that knowledge. Also, working with Shannon on a residential project in Avery Island, so my CAD skills are on the up and up! (I’ve started using the word tangent in my free time, hoping that we can grow from enemies to friends.) Last but CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, its march maddness season, and the office has both gendered brackets with a hefty prize that I intend on winning. (more recent update: I am not winning I put all of my eggs in the wrong baskets.)

Lunch breaks at the botanical gardens, very fulfilling.

    1. giant steel screw for foundation
using it over sand dunes so its preferred, bc its less impactful on land (and stable: think corkscrew duck)
