Life at CLH with Chloe

 Blog #3:

The past week or so have been kind of slow for me. I mainly have been focused on one project this entire time because we have a big deadline this upcoming week. I have been able to set up all the sheets for this project and have done staking plans, pavement plans, and landscape plans for it. I also have been able to work on details for this project which have been fun learning about the details we use at CLH. Once this project settles down, I should have a new work load coming my way but for now I am enjoying the easy week. Last week, I got to render a plan for a project that I got to sketch prelim designs for so it has been very cool to see this project from the very beginning and see the progression from early sketches to base plans. Seeing my ideas in a real plan has also been a treat!

This week we have a big office meeting which should be interesting but they are providing lunch so I'm all ears! Next week, we have annual reviews. Now, since I haven't been here for more than two months yet, I am curious as to what they will say.


FUN: This past weekend I was able to finally make it back to Louisiana. I got to see my fiancé, my cats, and my parents- literally the best weekend. This was the first time I had seen my cats and my parents since I moved so it was so good to see them. I already miss my cats. While in town, I went to the Spanish Town parade (it was kinda boring, honestly) and went to Overpass Merchant (yum!). I also ate my weight in crawfish with Matthew's family, they make the BEST crawfish. One of the best parts of the trip was running into Addison at Walmart. So glad I got to see her! I didn't get home from the airport until 2 am and had to wake up for work just a few short hours later. My parents are coming to visit this weekend which will be fun. They have never been to the Raleigh area so I am so excited to show them around and spend some time with them.

Life@CARBO Vol.2

GREETINGS ONCE AGAIN! I am attempting to get better at this blogging thing, I think my delivery of the last one was a bit bland and robotic. Fortunately, they say in life growth is inevitable and the same applies to my internship experience. I feel the level of trust is being raised with us interns. From the increased workload to the level of work being that is tasked to us. I don't know if it's just me but having my judgement and skill trusted to the level of having a deliverable that I had a large role in being presented to others is a slightly nervous but very rewarding feeling. It also acts as a motivator to keep learning and increase the quality of my efforts.  Assignment updates! Mikala and I did tree warranty work at Greenwood Park in Baker. Our task of was to walkthrough a portion of the park and tag the dead trees and ground shrubs so they could be replaced under their one-year warranty.                         ...
