HOCKER_IN_DALLAS_5-ANDREW

 Spring is upon us,

Hocker Design Group is really growing on me. I would be happy to come back and work here but I have a feeling after capstone year I will be hungry for more recreational design. We shall see what offers I receive when the time comes.

"ABOG"; Work we completed around 2 years ago was across the street from where we had lunch to welcome a new coworker.

These beds are appetizing.
Ivy with the pink sunset

We currently have a project where we are working on the landscape for AJ, the CEO of Canes. That is a phenomenal American Elm in the entrance walkway.

Going to be an epic japanese maple bonsai planter in the middle of the pool.

We went tree tagging for the site previously mentioned. Hocker has been great about giving me opportunity to help make some of these decisions.

We were mostly looking for the best looking 8" caliper cedar elms at 22 ft but most of the trees on the farm were closer to 7" caliper which was fine.

The tree farm was  named "Shade Maker".
I asked the farmer what the difference between ashe juniper and eastern red cedar and all he really told me was that ashe juniper is usually west of here and causes allergen problems. This stand in the farm is Eastern Red cedar which goes against my understanding of the difference between the two. I will have to get back with y'all once I can actually tell the difference.

My coworkers must know my passion for ecology because this appeared on my desk one day. Incredible issue of "Native American Seed." Perfect timing as I can refer while developing the planting palette and maintenance plan for this private school master plan presentation we are working on.

Another site visit we were placing five trees in the ground with the client. He is a "fair argument" type of fella so it was interesting to see the difference in how some clients trust us to do all the work while some prefer to make the design choices themselves. He ended up switching up all the tree locations from what was according to plan and we finally reasoned with him to move them back and it was a whole fiasco.

I will end this off with a 180 panorama of this sunset I captured.

Cheers
