Another plant update,

I have been enjoying the many nature preserves surrounding the area I live, inbetween other activities. 


I don't even know what to call this habitat.

Juniperus ashei; Epic Ashe cedar been through some flames

I cannot identify the species.
It has been bugging me since I got here in January. Please help

Groundcover is showing some crazy colors

So much life and diversity on all scales.

Schizachyrium scoparium; A thicket of little bluestem has such a nice pop of contrasting color this time of year. I am having trouble remembering this latin name. help


It has been an ongoing internal war on trying to decipher the difference between Juniperus virginiana and Juniperus ashei. I finally got some deeper understanding this weekend. It appears the Eastern redcedar stands tall and upright while the ashe juniper stays almost shrubby and appears almost multistem. help me

In my first week at Confluence in Minneapolis, it was all about learning the systems and how things work here: file structure, licensing, AutoCAD standards, company structure, and how project timelines and budgets work. Life@CARBO Vol.2

GREETINGS ONCE AGAIN! I am attempting to get better at this blogging thing, I think my delivery of the last one was a bit bland and robotic. Fortunately, they say in life growth is inevitable and the same applies to my internship experience. I feel the level of trust is being raised with us interns. From the increased workload to the level of work being that is tasked to us. I don't know if it's just me but having my judgement and skill trusted to the level of having a deliverable that I had a large role in being presented to others is a slightly nervous but very rewarding feeling. It also acts as a motivator to keep learning and increase the quality of my efforts.  Assignment updates! Mikala and I did tree warranty work at Greenwood Park in Baker. Our task of was to walkthrough a portion of the park and tag the dead trees and ground shrubs so they could be replaced under their one-year warranty.                         ...
