BLOG 3 ! - Sophie Webber CLH Design p.a.

WORK: The last 2 weeks have been very stressful. I was asked to do a render due in the same day and a fence project due the next day. I was very nervous to get it all done on time. Trying to get ahold of the higher ups is SO hard. They are always so so busy and are always on calls. I needed help from one on the fence project, but it took days to get a hold of her. That is something that has really been a challenge for me in the work force. This week, I am rendering the Caddell Center, a training facility for emergency service workers. I am also rendering another library and continuing my work on the Fayetteville University Quad design concepts. Tomorrow, we have our annual all company meeting. I am not sure what to expect, but there will be lunch so I am all ears lol. Wednesday we have our bi-weekly in house yoga class, and Thursday we have another lunch and learn. All in all, I have an exciting work week ahead. 


FUN: This past weekend, I went home for Mardi Gras. It was SO much fun!! I got to see my friends and boogie all over the town. We went to parades, the Hermes Ball on Thursday, and swam at my friend Molly's house. I got to see Mikala SHOUTOUT MIKALA on St. Charles and that made me very happy and excited. The flight back to Raleigh at 3 am was not my finest moment, I will say, but the weekend I had was 100% worth it! Now that I am back in Raleigh, I have some exciting things ahead. Columbia, South Carolina this coming weekend and family coming to visit after that! I love life man.

In my first week at Confluence in Minneapolis, it was all about learning the systems and how things work here: file structure, licensing, AutoCAD standards, company structure, and how project timelines and budgets work. GREETINGS ONCE AGAIN! I am attempting to get better at this blogging thing, I think my delivery of the last one was a bit bland and robotic. Fortunately, they say in life growth is inevitable and the same applies to my internship experience. I feel the level of trust is being raised with us interns. From the increased workload to the level of work being that is tasked to us. I don't know if it's just me but having my judgement and skill trusted to the level of having a deliverable that I had a large role in being presented to others is a slightly nervous but very rewarding feeling. It also acts as a motivator to keep learning and increase the quality of my efforts.  Assignment updates! Mikala and I did tree warranty work at Greenwood Park in Baker.
