Another Stop Along the Way
Home wise I haven't been up to anything crazy. I've driven a little bit more around the city and saw some new sights but I haven't adventured or explored anything else. Instead I've opted to stay in and game a lot more recently. I've been playing the Sims a lot more recently and have been really into building and making the model in game. I mentioned it to one of my coworkers and she pointed out that I make models at work and then go home to do the same thing haha. I thought it was funny. Besides that I was able to take some time off and go back to Baton Rouge for an extended weekend - I was able to see some family and get a chance to relax so it was nice. I also went thrifting while I was back and found some pretty cool pieces ( if you want the full haul let me know).
Work has been better though. The 9-5 lifestyle was still really nice and different to me for a while, but I am getting settled into it a bit more finally. It could be because I'm talking to more people around the office now but no matter the case I'll take it.
I have continued to work through the pedestrian connection project doing various tasks, but the main job I've been tackling for this project is another 3D model - but this time using D5 for rendering. I've never used it before so I was a little intimidated, but I will say I prefer that program a lot more than Lumion.
Besides this main project, I have also been working on two other projects also doing the modelling, rendering, and view exports. The first one of these is a children's space themed playground. Since we were using specific equipment, I had to pull the play equipment from the manufacturer and put it into Rhino. From there it was just about putting in the materials, planting, and entourage (people and cars). This project was nice getting to look at how a smaller, more intimate project interacted with a larger development. The second of these projects is a bridge and pedestrian crossing for a planned community. I took the civil files and basically created the Rhino base file from scratch; this was my first time at SWA working in a file that I had created so going through the process of properly setting it up was a learning experience for sure.
That's about all from work so far though; in the coming future I am going to continue working on the bridge model and refining it as I go, but who knows what'll happen next :)
P.S. - For anyone wanting a tamale update, she's been doing great. She loves going out onto the balcony and laying out in in the sun and has gotten so many new toys. Enjoy this funny picture I recently took of her
