And the Journey Continues
Good morning everyone! Hopefully this blog goes a little smoother than the last one - it's weird writing and talking to myself in a conversation style like this.
But, where do I start? After the first week, things at work continued to pick up the pace. I continued working through the pedestrian connection project I had been working on, but was moved to different portions of it doing different tasks. They had me working on the 3D modeling and rendering in Rhino and Lumion as well as putting together the materials palette graphic. It's been a while since I used both of those programs - the last time I think was for Brendan's class - so it had a little bit of a rocky start; I had forgotten all of the commands and workflows to making different components, but my coworkers were extremely helpful again. They caught me back up to speed with the basics and I was able to learn some new commands which made it so much better of an experience.
Outside of work though, I continued to explore the city one weekend at a time and got to see some new things. One of these being my first true snow days - it was so cool! (take my word for it because I forgot to take ay pictures haha) I did absolutely stay in bed all day, but seeing it close to home was a new experience.
My place is only a 10 minute walk from Hermann Park and the Houston Zoo, so I undertook that trip one day. The zoo and the park were both so cool and I could probably write an entire blog on just that - it just felt so immersive. After the 10 mile walk there, through the park, and back I decided to try out a restaurant that is nearby. It was amazing - 100/10 would recommend. Once again - if you're in the city and need a recommendation I know the place.
Anyway, hopefully this blog went a little better than the last one. Once again I hope you're all having a great time on your internships. Don't be afraid to reach out :)
Nothing better than a good walk in the park. I think we would all appreciate a parkwalk blog #100
