3/Addy tries new things
I find that my office is sooooo busy that they currently are struggling to find time to give me things so that I can help them. It's kind of a weird cycle but I am trying my best to say "Hey! I know how to do that, let me help you finish this for blah blah blah." The problem, though, is that I don't know everything and do require some time and assistance. The good thing, though, is that I don't know everything and am learning and picking things up surprisingly quick. LandDesign has it's own custom version of Autocad and so I spent the first two weeks figuring out what all the buttons do. Regular Cad has enough buttons as it is, but LD Cad is actually super beneficial because it has all those pre-saved files with hatch types, line weights, and pattern scores that cross over across so many of their projects. I tried out the "green" Autocad, Sketchup, worked heavily in Indesign, I am working on construction documents, city guideline developement documents, and am about to help with grading.
Sorry this image is so blurry but I am adding all of those pink lines in on this pickle park... Yes, you heard me right. This project was my first time really understanding the Land FX side of things in Autocad. They had to super upgrade my computer for this one and it was so intimidating but in the end made life so much easier because those are all measurements to figure out the scaling of each curved radius on the entire plan. It is a lot of information.
I am self training myself in sketchup for the moment. This is my ball pit project from first year that I was playing around with while waiting for my coworker to finish up her CAD file. I watched a few tutorial videos and am hoping I can be in good shape for when they actually do need this from me in the office. But for now, I am trying new things, loving some, hating others, and honestly just excited to come back to BR in the fall and use all of these new skills.
Wait this is gonna be so cool! U have to show us when u finish!!
