(#3) Kenzie Settles In at the Office

Hello and welcome back!!

settle in for our most recent update featuring lots of things that I will not list here this time, instead you will be surprised.

Let’s get into it:

After I got out my landscape plan for the restaurant, I started working on adjusting cad files for a waterfront park we’re working on downtown. We had to rotate all of the plans to orient horizontally and that ment changing labels and layouts.

One week, both Blair and Brandon were out for 2 days while we had a pretty hefty amounts of deadlines. That being said, I started helping my coworker, Zack, make some spatial diagrams for a project building a research hospital in our area. The purpose of the diagram was to show views into our rooftop garden from various programmed uses in the building spaces.

I’ve also been doing some research trying to understand airport design rules and regulations for a project we’re looking into. I was trying to find examples of good and bad airport corridors (roadways leading up to airport grounds, but not technically airport property) and assess what makes them fall either way. I also looked to see if there are certain requirements for plantings in the area, asking questions such as are there any plants that we do/don’t allow? If so, why? What factors determine where trees can be placed on site? How far away do things need to be from the runway?

The most recent thing I’ve done is a grading plan for a local resident of Memphis. It was a little scary because I was definitely pretty rusty at grading, but once I got started I was really enjoying myself. They were impressed I understood grading as well as I did and to that I thank Mark Boyer and Nicholas Serrano.

Im hoping to start updating regularly from here on out, and I cannot wait to hear from you all! August can’t come fast enough

with love,

kenzie

my family likes to play board games after dinner and I’ve missed it since I left for school. Do y'all ever play dominos? If not, what’s your favorite family game?
