What a great few weeks it has been at CLH! I have been working on some exciting projects. My favorite has been working on a school expansion. I have been rendering the site on photoshop along with trying to grade the site. I have expanded my photoshops skills and have been able to show my coworkers what I can do. the grading portion has been difficult because my school level knowledge of grading is not in comparison with the level of grading for this project. In addition to the school, I have been able to help in the DD stage for a health center and morgue. I have learned all about setting up sheets and key notes and have been helping edit some of the design based on redlines from the architect and clients. We have a meeting later this week with our president to go through more red lines before we send the 100% DD off to the client. With this project, I have also been able to work on details. CLH has set up a CAD file with every possible detail you could ever need so all we have to do is copy it into our CAD base and edit them based on our needs.

notice the mow lines on the football field and the school logo!
Outside of work has been a blast! On Valentine's day, Sophie cooked me an AMAZING meal (that girl can cook!) We drank lots of wine and watched cheesy dating reality shows to celebrate. The next day, my sister and sister-in-law surprised me with a visit! We were able to try some new restaurants and spent the weekend relaxing. It was so good to see them since I only get to see them a few times a year. Last week we worked remotely due to a small snow storm. We got a good 6 inches of snow at least! Snow is now my favorite type of weather! I took this picture of a massive magnolia tree in front of my apartment covered in snow. So amazing.
my sister and her wife stayed me for 5 days, i had to go buy an air mattress for them cause I had no where for them to stay!

This past weekend I drove two hours to Charlotte for a dance show. The show was so amazing and I was in awe of the talent for the dancers in the show. So incredible. On Sunday, Sophie and I had a long day. We started by going to the North Carolina Zoo. It's supposed to be one of the best zoos in the nation but I thought it was just okay. We saw some cool animals like arctic fox but was disappointed by the seal exhibit being closed. They also had some really cool art pieces in this zoo. After that, Sophie and I went to a few different tows where we went to antique malls and other local businesses. (go see Sophie's blog for some fun pictures from that!) In my free time, I have picked up a few little hobbies. I have already read two books and have finished two diamond paintings and one paint by number. It has been a great distraction from work and my phone haha.

These past two weeks have been amazing and I am looking forward to more exploring North Carolina and learning all I can at CLH. I am really excited to go home this weekend for my future sister-in-law's birthday and to enjoy some crawfish and time with Matthew and my cats! In the upcoming weeks, my parents will be in town which will be fun and I am expecting to be thrown into even more projects where I can explore more skills.
SO much fun!!! it has been a blast so far! North Carolina is our oyster
