Jack Ballard Blog 1

My time with RVi has been a great. Austin is an amazing city with so much to do. The way the city integrates nature into every part of the city really appeals to me. Something I've noticed is the huge cycling and running culture here. This is made more accessible because of the designated bike lanes and greenways sprawled throughout the city. I have been taking full advantage of this by walking to work and biking into downtown every weekend.

Things I have done so far at work:
  • Create renderings on photoshop
  • Make changes from redlining on cad
  • Learned about land f/x and xrefs
  • Create base maps
  • Do some redlining
  • Lotting
  • Site visits
  • Helped with drainage concept
  • Edit designs based on new developments
  • Asked lots of questions
  • Drink 20 La Croix's a day
Things I have done so far off work:
  • Bike all around Austin
  • Joined a contemplation club
  • Been to some speakeasys
  • Been eating good (especially BBQ and Tex Mex)
  • Went in a cave
  • Hiking to some overlooks
  • Barton springs
  • Signed up at a woodworking makerspace
  • Yoga classes sometimes but I dislike the hot yoga
  • Bought some jeans on south congress street
  • went to comedy and improve shows
  • signed up for some bicycle camping trips on the weekends
  • and many more
A picture of Mueller Park. Not too far from downtown.
