EVERYONES WORST NIGHTMARE (at least mine)

 GRADING...

Today I spent every minute grading the whole New Branch Horse Ranch in New Orleans. I had two maps to use one was spot elevations and the other was a topo trends map with 4 two interval contour lines. Which like I know what you are thinking.. Ava that's literally all you need.. BUT NO YALL the maps didn't line up in the slightest bit and were very contradicting to each other AND WERE BLURRY AS HECK! And the site is originally at a 0.2% slope and we wanted to get it to like 1-2% but not make OD changes because we dont want to have to ship soil off if there is extra.. blah blah yall get the point.  I really wanted to just jump out my desk window right then and there. I'm not even sure how I even got through any of the grading classes we took throughout the years. Shout out to y'all for helping ya girl out. BUT DANG I was SCARED 

Also mind you whole time Dana was explaining the project to me she was saying she doesn't even know where to start so goodluck.. LIKE GIRL (obviously she would know what to do but like didn't have the time or want to hold my hand yk) But somehow I thrive off being thrown to the wolves I guess???????????? maybe I'm growing up.. ALSO I KNOW HOW TO PRINT AND SCAN THINGS HERE. Jace and Danny I hope yall read that <3

Anyways after a lot of research and talks with chat GPT I lowkey think I ate. Also they did teach me a really easy, old school cheat code, I think, and say don't believe they ways we were taught to go about grading. In projects in the real world it isn't that serious to get the perfect number like some people taught.. Not saying any namessss but mad shade was being thrown lol. But who knows, no one can check it until Friday because they are swamped with work right now so I'm just moving right along to work on something else.

Another funny thing about working here is that everyone knows all the LSU Landscape Architecture tea because everyone is ALUM. Its hilarious to me because some people really never change and are so stuck in their ways and habits. Hearing that everyone has had the same issues with the same people and their take on it all is crazy. And vise versa with all the positives/success too.

      bruhhhhhhh its really not... i think i just get anxiety/PTSD from the grading classes LOL

GREETINGS ONCE AGAIN! I am attempting to get better at this blogging thing, I think my delivery of the last one was a bit bland and robotic. Fortunately, they say in life growth is inevitable and the same applies to my internship experience. I feel the level of trust is being raised with us interns. From the increased workload to the level of work being that is tasked to us. I don't know if it's just me but having my judgement and skill trusted to the level of having a deliverable that I had a large role in being presented to others is a slightly nervous but very rewarding feeling. It also acts as a motivator to keep learning and increase the quality of my efforts.  Assignment updates! Mikala and I did tree warranty work at Greenwood Park in Baker.
