I truly enjoy reading about your adventures and perspectives. Assignment Updates: To be completely honest I've been slacking on my assignment logging in my internship journal. Despite this I have in fact still of course been doing things. Here are a few off the dome... I recently visited one of our project sites in New Orleans, which is being developed to manage stormwater from a nearby flood-prone residential area. What you're looking at here is the energy dissipater located at the north weir. This feature is designed to slow the flow of collected water as it enters the site. The water travels through a series of large granite boulders, reducing its velocity before reaching several designated retention areas. This helps protect the site from erosion while enhancing overall stormwater management. These photos are from a recent site...
