Weeks 13–14: 

Week 13

This week was all about conceptual progress and shifting between creative modes.

  • Monday: Kicked things off with our regular scheduling meeting before diving into conceptual designs for a campus masterplan.
  • Tuesday: Continued developing the concepts.
  • Wednesday: Moved the designs into CAD.
  • Thursday: Bounced back and forth between CAD and sketching to refine ideas.
  • Friday: Wrapped the week by creating base renderings for all the concepts.

Weekend highlights:
LSU secured a 2–1 series win over Tennessee. I spent part of Saturday celebrating a coworker’s birthday at Hermann Park. Fit in some running, gym time, and my usual weekend routine.

Week 14

This week was centered on polishing visuals and responding to feedback.

  • Monday–Tuesday: Focused on completing the renderings and incorporating feedback.
  • Wednesday: Finished all four renderings in time for our 3 PM meeting. I tagged along to observe the school departments discuss the designs and weigh in on what to move forward with.
  • Thursday: Knocked out some redlines.
  • Friday: Continued working on redlines for the construction packages, but with the office Wi-Fi out, I got to leave early. Hit the road home, made it back in time for the RRSLA awards banquet, and ended the night with a date at the new Mexican restaurant that replaced Habaneros in Perkins Rowe. We both agreed, we miss Habaneros.

Weekend recap:
Drove into Covington Saturday and headed out to Jazz Fest. I came just for Pearl Jam, and they absolutely delivered. The energy shift was instant. What had been a mellow, quiet crowd came alive the second they hit the stage. 10/10 experience.
Sunday, I grabbed lunch and 7 Brew with Marlaux, fixed a small issue on my car, and made the long, uneventful drive back to Houston.

Blog #4 - Jalen Winburn Hello everyone, As of lately, the work has picked up a bit as a few of our projects are coming close to closing, which means getting final deliverables and documents finished before the upcoming deadlines. Last week I was working a bit more on the mixed-use development project, doing more SketchUp and Enscape work. The model is almost entirely finished, which has been really sweet to work on from start to finish and see come to life. I am currently working on another flythrough video of the model that will get sent out to the city later in the week. Weeks 9-10: Navigating New Horizons – Embracing Change and Celebrations Week 9: March 17 - March 21 Monday: The week kicked off with the usual weekly scheduling meeting , setting the stage for upcoming tasks. Sat in on a wayfinding greenway project meeting , discussing strategies for guiding movement through Harris County’s landscapes. Wrapped up the day with a one-on-one session with the studio lead , getting valuable insights into workflow and expectations. Tuesday: Attended the staff meeting to get updates on various projects. Had a project meeting focused on developing sections for a new Harris County greenway . Tasked with rendering and bringing these visions to life. Wednesday: Finalized and rendered five sections for a 9 AM presentation . Reviewed client feedback and implemented necessary updates .
